Los \u00e1tomos de carbono se unen en un entramado cristalino, formando filamentos m\u00e1s finos que un cabello humano. Miles de estas hebras se retuercen en hilos que luego se fijan en epoxi, creando el tubo compuesto de fibra de carbono que utilizamos hoy en d\u00eda.<\/p><p data-start=\"1613\" data-end=\"1956\">A diferencia de los metales, que conducen el calor con rapidez, la estructura de la fibra de carbono ralentiza la transferencia t\u00e9rmica. Incluso cuando entra en contacto directo con una llama, la superficie se carboniza mientras que el interior permanece fr\u00edo. La resina puede quemarse, pero el esqueleto de fibra de carbono permanece s\u00f3lido.
